First day of sailing, I caught a King Mackerel, the first and only fish i ever got the the indian ocean

smoky town, we could smell miles away wood fires, food and spices, and hear sounds of horns and Muslim prayers

Thurday Island

We arrived yesterday at noon at T.I., it took us one hour for the last mile: 25 kt head wind and 5 kt current against us, a real fight till the the end.
Quarantine came on board and took all our vegies, fruit and our deer prociutto.
We wanted to go for a swim in this 26 c turquoise water, but we were warned that the shark and crocodile population is very much on top of the food chain here! welcome to Australia!
We got a taxi boat to go on land and we cleared Immigration.
Then we went for a PUB hunt, and drunk our first beer ( in 10 days) in Austgralia
Today going back at sea, next stop : Darwin, 825 NM , 5-6 days

yesterday, we did 210 NM in 24 hours!
Blue footed bobbies( really here?) are using the life lines to sleep at nigth and are shiting all over the deck, where is my slingshot!
The sea is too rought to fish....
Papa new guinee is just 60 miles on our starboard side but we cannot see it
360 NM till Thursday Island..
